Thinking he has been invited an alien decides to visit Earth only to find himself under attack when he arrives.
His home has sent someone to come get him, but he must get to Arizona for the rendezvous.
He kidnaps a woman and takes the form of her late husband in order to get help in getting to Arizona.
They must avoid the authorities and make their way to the meeting point so that the Starman can make it back home
